Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation Services
Our commitment to recovery means that as many as 100% of our patients who anticipate
a short-term rehabilitation stay of less than 60 days actually return home.
How can we achieve such remarkable results?
Our partnership with Anchor Rehabilitation enables us to provide each patient with
the highest quality rehabilitative care possible. Anchor’s sole focus is geriatric
rehabilitation, so their 30 years of experience providing therapy to the senior
community ensures our patients receive specialized Physical, Occupational, and Speech
therapy that’s just right for seniors.
Anchor’s Physical therapy uses specifically
designed exercises, treatments, and equipment to improve physical abilities including
balance, strength, and mobility.
Anchor’s Occupational therapy uses a holistic approach
to help patients adapt to recent limitations or disabilities caused by illness or
injury - to restore old skills or teach new ones. Treatment focuses on activities
of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming and feeding as well as problem-solving,
safety and organizational skills.
Anchor’s Speech therapy helps individuals with
communication and/or swallowing disorders and may include evaluation of speech,
language, voice, swallowing and cognitive or “thinking” skills such as memory, decision-making
and safety.
Using specialized equipment and treatment regimens from Accelerated
Care Plus (ACP), our therapists provide effective treatment for a variety of conditions
such as surgical wounds, stroke recovery, pressure ulcers, urinary incontinence,
peripheral neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, fall prevention, total knee and hip
replacement, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, contractures, and pain management.
In
addition to our therapy department, our nurse-directed restorative program helps
our permanent residents maintain the highest level of function and independence
possible. The restorative aide is responsible for carrying out the individualized
exercise and walking programs designed in collaboration with the restorative nurse
and Anchor therapists.
