Berlin Nursing & Rehabilitation CENTER ONLY NURSING HOME IN WORCESTER COUNTY TO RECEIVE GRANT FUNDING FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FROM MARYLAND HEALTH CARE COMMISSION
Berlin, MD, May 10, 2012 – Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown and the Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) announced on May 8, 2013 that four Maryland nursing homes would receive funds through a $517,000 grant to support Information Technology improvements.
Berlin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center located in Worcester County is the only nursing home on the eastern shore selected to participate in the grant funding.
“We are excited to be a part of the States initiative to advance Health Information Technology in Long Term Care. This grant will help us to further our goal in utilizing the technology to increase efficiency and accuracy thus enhancing the quality of care we can provide to the community” said Michael Garrett, VP of Information Technology.
Don Boger, Administrator for Berlin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center went on to say, “Today our systems are pretty advanced; allowing us to provide more information to the clinical staff and our patients as well as exchange information with local Hospitals creating a shared effort in caring for our community.” He continued by saying, “This funding will benefit everyone in our Eastern Shore community.”
